Possibly my best show all year. Thanks for all the support, and for all the new patreons! Huff Gas, Eat Ass! 101.1 The Butt!
Following the September 11 attacks in 2001, Clear Channel Communications (now iHeartMedia), the largest owner of radio stations in the United States, circulated an internal memorandum containing a list of songs that program directors felt were "lyrically questionable" to play in the aftermath of the attacks.
Inspired by The @milkbox show, I do more baby battle calls.
Just an FYI, IceCat has slid into a new slot…er time slot. IceCat has slid into a new time slot! Come get your fill on Saturday Nights with the Chill.
This commercial was made by the AMAZING Andy Anderson, who took the time out of his busy schedule training single dads to do voiceovers, to make this drop for me! I am truly lucky to have such creative, funny and talented followers come and hang out in my chats week after week. You, dear listeners, are why I keep doing my show. I can never say thank you and I love you enough! Now get back to work, and I hope we'll see you on Caturday! Woo!
For many Americans, the September 11 attacks are the most important cultural turning point in history. The tragedy – in which radical Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda flew passenger planes into both of the World Trade Center towers and the Pentagon – was the deadliest terrorist attack in world history, and sparked both rampant patriotism throughout the U.S. and jingoistic anti-Muslim sentiment across much of the world. It also had a dramatic effect on the arts, and inspiring many musicians.
On this show we call hotels from the Diaper Derby to bet on Baby Battles in their parking lot. We also call places claiming that someone just Chris Hansened us in a hotel room while we were trying to meet someone from the internet. Thanks to @despicabledogs, @icecat, and @gretagarbage for joining for the fun and for everyone in the chat who suggested ridiculously funny wordplay to use.
Unfortunately, Giphy decided to start charging for access to the image emoji - and the amount they were asking was ridiculous.
For a short term solution I swapped it out with Tenor, but it's not the best technical implementation. For example, it won't automatically theme the gifs around your custom emoji at the moment.
Hopefully I can change that in the future, but I wanted a quick replacement in place first.
Edit: Please note that if you are using Giphy images as chat bot responses, you will need to remove them or swap them out with a Tenor image instead.
